Aussie actress Isla Fisher sells her luxury Sydney pad almost 30 years after purchasing it for $171,500 - amid divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen

Isla Fisher has turned a comfortable profit on the sale of her two-bedroom apartment in Sydney's leafy Woollahra suburb.

The Wedding Crashers star, 48, is said to be 'happy' with the results of the sale, after she was forced to cancel its auction last month.

The Aussie Hollywood star purchased the art deco apartment in 1995, one year after launching her career as Shannon Reed on Home and Away.

She paid just $171,500 for her first piece of the Sydney property market, set on the edge of sprawling Centennial Park.

Isla first listed the unit for sale in September, with a price guide of $1.1million but was forced to slash the price two times.

JK Agency principal Michael Minogue said the auction was shelved due to a 'soft' market and that the price guide had been cut to generate more interest.

Following the auction's revocation, the apartment shed $100,000 from its price guide before returning to a stable $990,000, and while it's nothing to sneeze at, it still falls short of its original $1.1million listing.

The sale was eventually settled through a private negotiation on October 22 for an undisclosed price..

At only 19, Isla was on her way to becoming one of the most successful faces in the Australian TV and film industry when she bought her first apartment.

She managed to keep the Sydney home in a small win during her split from her ex-husband Sacha Baron Cohen.

Over the next few decades, while working on films like Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic, the Sydney apartment was used as a rental investment property.

The apartment boasts a quiet and elevated rear position in the building along with a 'spacious', updated kitchen, bathroom and a master bedroom with built-ins.

It was most recently listed for rent at $400-a-week in February 2021.

Isla - who had been living in her native Australia with British ex husband Sacha - is reportedly house-hunting in Hampstead, north London.

Sources recently told The Daily Mail's Alison Boshoff that she has a budget of £13 million (AUD$24million).

The actress is currently in the UK, as she is playing a single friend of the heroine in new film Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.

Sacha is believed to be in the process of buying a London house of his own.

Isla and Sacha, who jointly filed to end their marriage in 2023, share two daughters and one son who they often keep out of the public eye.

The couple first met back in 2001 and tied the knot in 2010, with the end of their marriage coming just a few years after relocating their family to Australia.
